Midterm

Again my next post..
I just checked out my midterm grade. I guess i was too complacent with my summer classes where i made a 3.57 GPA. Well for this term, it was not that bad either because it depends primarily on the instructor. Like in my case, i am not that lucky because of the stringent marking scheme. What i mean is there is no curve given to any class taking the same subject under the same instructor. Say the standard mark to get A is 90, but then i made an 89.99 for engineering math, its still a B. Plus, A-,B-, or C- is not a tradition here in this school. I am not pretty sure about the grading system in local schools, except for UTM for i was there for a semester. They standardize their A grade for 85 and above. But still they do have A-,B- and C- and even curve given to certain subjects. When the grading system is way too tough, there should be no place left for complacency. You and I have to have a nerdy method where many times we have to forgo parties and become sleep deprived. But anyway, i still do feel good for some reasons. Even though i did not get all things as i have expected it to be, so far i am comparatively way above those white. And now, i have only two months left to accomplish my short term daredevil mission that is to bring 3.5 GPA home.

Eid Mubarak (Hari Raya Festival)

Last week, me and the other Malaysians were having a gathering in conjunction with Raya Festival. Sure enough that was a good thing to get all scattered Malaysian Aggies gathered in one place. For this Raya, we chose Ain as our honorary host for she is among the only four Malays here in Aggieland. She is living off-campus anyway and that makes thing easier. We invited all Malaysians which were around 24 people, but some were not coming for inevitable reason. We also had an American student wanting to taste "Malaysian food". Unfortunately that day, i could not help with the food preparation because i was doing my online homework after i got back from the mass. That was because procrastination is my ultimate passion. After i was done, Ain picked me and Douglas up. My only contribution for the gathering was the "ngajat" performance. I have long wanted to perform my asset especially in the States. Actually i was once invited by the International Student Office to perform during the International Cultural Night during Spring semester this year. But i was not feeling well that day that i canceled to perform. But it was alright since i still have four more years schooling here. Back to the main topic, we have really had a good time talking craps and getting to know some new faces. Plus, its kinda good feeling coming to such a Malaysian party with two more Shell scholars because before this, it was only the same three dull faces representing Shell. We have had a chance to practice our diplomacy having introduced them to such an environment. In a very near future, i am thinking of organizing Gawai Dayak Festival, only after i finish my on-campus hall contract. By the way, i better stop rambling about these Raya stuffs for i have some of our photos here.

Howdy,

See the name of my blog !!! You should have known what it implies. Sure enough this is my second attempt to have my own blog. I know some of my peers have already posted their own blogs. So i guess, its not a bad idea though. I am sicked of those mundane friendster, facebook, and myspace, just to name a few. So, here it goes this fresh platform and i hope this newly founded "ruai" as people say will help to spend my quality time better. But anyway, do check out this site soon. Will be back with photos.
